The transitional images of the present appear as enigmatic signs. They elicit profound anxieties even as they conjure other ways of seeing. Seeded by a mode of imagination that is only activated when ‘the light of sense’ goes out, the mesmerizing spectacles of what we designate as the late Imaginary push back to the surface the core problematics of writing and reading, of listening and thinking.

The SeedBooks series is addressed to these problematics. In fluid, permeable books funded by Sweden’s The Seed Box Collaboratory and the Australian Research Council, we are exploring how today’s new visual and cognitive landscapes engender new textual, counter-visual and post-analytic practices across the Humanities.
