Australian Humanities Review
Publishing open access since 1996
Australian Humanities Review aims to publish challenging theoretically-informed research across a range of humanities disciplines, including literary and film studies, cultural and media studies, gender studies, history, politics, philosophy, sociology and anthropology. We support writing that communicates to readers outside of disciplinary specialisations without sacrificing scholarly rigour, with a focus especially on questions of sexuality (especially queer theory and its legacy), race (especially in relation to Australian Indigenous peoples) and the ecological humanities. As one of the earliest web-based scholarly journals, AHR remains committed to open access and freedom of expression as cornerstones of academic inquiry.
